Ryan Hope Travis is honored to be a company artist for the Civic Ensemble. He recently appeared in two Civic Ensemble productions, A More Perfect Union and the world premiere of Slashes of Light, the latter in collaboration with the Kitchen Theatre Co. Other credits include: June 16 and a workshop performance of Trigger (Kitchen Theatre Co.), A Shout In Salty Water (New York State Council on the Arts), The Color Purple, The Fantasticks, The Tempest, Into The Woods, and Side Show (Redhouse), From Then To Now and Wine, Watermelon, The Word (The Black Academy of Arts and Letters). Select film credits include: Nugget, Once in a Good Many Million Times, Hallow, and Last Stop. In addition to performing, Ryan devises and directs original works. He recently staged Steady and Legend, two works inspired by the 50th Anniversary of the March from Selma to Montgomery.
